"I have lived in the Westwood neighborhood for over 22 years, and worked for Westwood Unidos for 13 years. I love my job because it allows me to support my community and fight for equity for all of my neighbors. The work helps us to make our voices heard and ensures our community's priorities become a part of Denver's larger city priorities.

 

I am also a mother. I have 5 children, and I am invested in the integrity and safety of the young people in our community. It's important for us to have a variety of programs that support the next generation, so they can live up to their full potential and have good academic outcomes, an understanding of their cultural history and a healthy self-esteem. By developing the talents and addressing the needs of young people and their families, we learn to be united and improve our safety and our community."
